Dave Pearson had a long and special relationship with the town of Jarrow, on Tyneside. This initially developed through meeting Vince Rea, then Director of the Bede Gallery in Jarrow. Dave had a number of exhibitions throughout his career at the Bede Gallery.
In addition there are three other note-worthy projects associated with the town. In 1975 Dave worked with Bob Frith as part of the 'Palmer's Yard' exhibition to create large wooden sculptures on the roof of the Bede inspired by the Overhead Gantreys of the old Jarrow shipyards. In 1990 in a similar project Dave worked with Don McKinlay and Mel Chantrey to recreate Van Gogh's 'Bridge at Arles' as part of the 'Vincent' exhibition.
In 1986 Dave completed one of his most important works - the large-scale 'Jarrow March'' painting.
