||
CALENDAR CUSTOMS: Work in various media inspired by historical accounts of the customs and practices of rural English communities on particular days of the year, such as May Day, All Hallows Eve etc. Many of the paintings were large cardboard reliefs on board or canvas. IN THE SEVEN WOODS: The influence of the English folklore tradition continued with series of works celebrating the Abbots Bromley Horn Dance, which still takes place each September. The work include one extensive series in pencil and graphite. |
